  • Adel lived in a small village with limited educational resources. Before joining our program, she attended a local school where classes were held for only two hours a day and focused on drawing, Sasak (the local language), and religion, without teaching relevant skills for her development, not even the local language, Bahasa. At Misticarium, we identified the urgent need to provide educational support to girls like Adel to break the cycle of poverty and open doors to a promising future full of options.

Through our foundation, Adel was enrolled in a renowned English-language school in the city. With the support of our donors and the dedication of her teachers and classmates, Adel not only learned English quickly in a matter of months, but also developed analytical skills and became passionate about math. This school not only provides academic knowledge but also teaches values and life skills.

  • Adel, now 12, is the only local girl in a school with more than 100 international students. In just six months, with the support of her teachers and classmates, Adel became fluent in English, learned to read, speak the country's language, use technology, and developed analytical thinking skills. She loves math and is an avid learner and reader, always asking for more homework to keep improving. She also enjoys teaching English and other subjects to her small town and family.

  • In addition to his academic success, Adel has inspired his community with his knowledge. At school, he learned about the importance of recycling and now encourages those around him to recycle and reduce their consumption of single-use plastic. This initiative has significantly reduced plastic waste in his village. Adel has also learned to recognize natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis, which are common in his area, and has taught his family and neighbors what to do if one occurs.

AN EDUCATION CAN CHANGE A LIFE AND TRANSFORM A COMMUNITY

  • On the island of Lombok, many girls face a challenging fate: marriage or pregnancy between the ages of 14 and 16. These marriages, whether to classmates or, sadly, to much older men, keep them away from school forever. Adel's mother experienced this reality. She became pregnant with Adel at 14, and despite her desire to continue her studies, she was denied her diploma, closing the door to a future job on the island. We want to prevent Adel from going through the same thing. Before joining her new school, Adel dreamed of marrying young, like her friends. But now, thanks to the support of her teachers and her new environment, her perspective has changed. Adel says her education is the most important thing and she dreams of going to university.

This is the Misticarium Foundation's first project, and we want to test the hypothesis of the impact that having an educated person can have on a community. With stories like Adel's, we hope to inspire more communities to value and support education. Our goal is to continue providing resources and opportunities to disadvantaged children around the world, creating a lasting impact that transforms lives and entire communities.

At the Misticarium Foundation, we are committed to a future where every child has access to the education they deserve. Adel's story is just the beginning of what we can achieve together.

Join our mission to change the world, one girl at a time.
